"I thought as much. Would you say that the talent and reputation that often preceeds you is truthful, or falsely earned?" asked Sima Yi, his dark eyes fickering with interest. He made his way over to his horse were he pulled out a gourd of wine and two cups from his side bag. He gave one to Zhuge Liang, and filled it with wine for him. He then filled his own.
"The five factors I know well, yes. However, let me give you my five on military operations. There are five possible operations in war: if you can fight, fight; if you cannot fight, defend; if you cannot defend, flee; if you cannot flee, surrender; if you cannot surrender, die! And a hostage would be meaningless." He said, smiling and taking a drink.

Zhuge Liang graciously accepted the drink, not really caring if it had poison or not.
"History determines talent and reputation. Am I talented and able to have a high reputation? Definitely! I compare myself to Guan Zhong and Yue Yi!"
"Moo," snorted the cow.
"Just because I didn't create a monopoly of natural resources doesn't mean I'm better or worse than Guan Zhong!" Zhuge yelled at his cow. Sometime ago Zhuge got off his bovine, "and I'm not letting you get drunk again either!"
Zhuge turned back to Sima Yi, "your five operations are insightful I see. Already I can tell that you can be a good general or a civil official." Zhuge then paused, looking at him. Then Zhuge looked eastwards.
"How's my nephew?" Zhuge suddenly asked.

Sima Yi choked on his wine. Who was this man to compare himself with such great men from the past? What impudence! Sima Yi then said,
"Interesting. I have never heard of anyone who would welcome such a comparison so openly."
Sima Yi's lip curled when Zhuge Liang made the remark about him being a good general or civil official. Such things were below Sima Yi's talents and abilities. He said to Zhuge Liang, his voice icy, "And what of you? What position would a man of your talents see fit to fill?"

Zhuge Liang chuckled, clearly recognizing that he touched a nerve.
"Why so angry, friend?" Kongming asked, finishing his wine drink, "currently I wish to retire. To live a comfortable and long life within nature. No longer do I wish to become an emperor. I'll write books and teach others, and even invent new technology for a new generation."
Zhuge waved his fan, "it is very good to aspire to become one of the greats. Maybe when I grow old I can become the next Jiang Ziya, the fisher-minister sage?"
Zhuge Liang continued, "besides, you still haven't answered my previous question. How's my nephew, Zhuge Ke? I believe I remember he recruited one of the Simas."

"Ah, yes, Zhuge Ke. He is doing fine, your nephew. He is very perceptive and rules in an even-handed manner. He is strong of body and mind - a true leader of men." said Sima Yi, now finished with his drink. He poured himself some more, the wine splashing some out of the cup.
"I, too, seek to retire when all is said and done. I think it is the best option and one that most would desire; to live out the rest of your days in peace." Sima Yi added. His tone, however, was one of irritation, as Zhuge Liang kept comparing himself to great men of old.
"Ah, the great Lu Shang? Yes, he was amazing. I suppose you would think yourself able to match that of Zhang Liang, as well?"

Zhuge Liang smiled, eyes off in the distance.
"I feel happy that he is treating society well. If there were more of him, what a world it would be!" Kongming then looked at Sima Yi with a more serious face.
"Zhang Liang? No, I can't bring myself to attempt to create such an ingenious bolt to attempt to assassinate an emperor. He could communicate with gods and travel through multiple dimensions, or so legend has it. Maybe close to Zhang Liang, but certainly not yet." Zhuge finished.
"moo," master Mo added.
Zhuge turned towards the cow, "I could match you any day of the week!"

Sima Yi, who was now well into his cups, was swaying slightly and was begining to see more than one Zhuge Liang. He dropped his cup carelessly and then said, with intoxicated speech,
"Sooo...you know what? How would you compare yerself to meesh?"

Kongming peered at Sima Yi with a smile.
"You need to improve your drinking level, first of all. I suppose I'm better at drinking than you. Hmm, in comparison to you hmm?" Zhuge waved his fan.
"I am smarter and wiser than you. That's what I'll say," Zhuge Liang responded. Zhuge Liang then waited for his response.

Sima Yi regained his footing. To one of the Zhuge Liang's he replied, "How dare you mock meep...Zhuge Lang," He swayed so badly, he almost fell over. Angrily, Sima Yi picked up the wine gourd and threw it to the ground, wine and peices fly and splashing everywhere. "I will not let yoush disgrace my family with your words!"
Sima Yi withdrew a dagger from his robes. It was very fine with a jeweled handle. Sima Yi then went for Zhuge Liang, his eyes burning with rage. However, Sima missed, and fell over the cliffside. He hung there, unsure of what to do.

Zhuge Liang sighed. It looked like he ought to leave at once. Zhuge's pet cow sensed this, and walked over to Zhuge Liang.
"mooo," muttered Mo Zi.
"Sigh, this land is not for us. It's time to stop delaying and go North!" Zhuge Liang sat on top of the cow, backwards of course.
"Here Sima Yi!" Zhuge threw a book, "it's Zhuge's treatise on the Art of War. Good luck and tell my nephew that I said hello, goodbye, hello again, and bye-nee."
And with one great wind from the south, Zhuge and Mo Zi, the cow, simply disappeared...

Sima Yi, slowly coming to his senses, began to realize the peril he was in. He cried out for Zhuge Liang, but no response came. Angrily he hit the cliffside with his fist, but that only caused some of the rock to crumble down. He carefully reached over towards a thrick root that was protruding out of the earth - if he could grab hold of it, and manage his way up, he would be safe.
Success! Sima Yi grasped the root with all that he had. As of now, it was his lifeline. Now all he had to do was walk up the side of the mountain, to safety. A man of his great abilities would find this an easy task compared to a lesser man. But then the wind began to blow, and Sima Yi lost his grip.
Releasing the root from his grasp, down he fell, down, down, down, screaming into the carvens below...
And no one ever saw Sima Yi again.
